PTV Vissim for Reviewers
Date: January 18-19, 2022
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST
Location: Online
Description: This course provides insights and procedures commonly used to review finished PTV Vissim microsimulation traffic studies. It is designed to be a starting point for developing reviewing processes presenting workflow recommendations, best practices, and sample layouts that can streamline thereview process.
Who Should Attend: Users taking this course should have at least a basic understanding about how a PTV Vissim network is build and how a microscopic simulation traffic study is performed. Users reviewing models are most often project leads or public agency engineers, but this course can apply to any user performing QA/QC on a PTV Vissim model.
Prerequisites: PTV Vissim Introduction or PTV Vissim Overview course or equivalent experience.
Content:
- Learn how to check the quality of the physical network; links, speed settings, traffic control.
- Learn how to validate the demand applied to the network; routes, vehicle inputs, turn/link counts.
- Learn how to validate calibration settings; driver behaviors, gap acceptances, etc.
- Learn how to validate the outputs and results generated by the simulations.
- Learn how to use layouts within PTV Vissim to improve efficiency when reviewing models
- Discuss implementation of recommended values or defaults to mitigate potential discrepancies in future models; fleet settings, speed distributions, class names, etc.
Price: See specific event page and training policy for details.
