New forms of mobility, mobility stations and urban design

The Experimental Housing Construction and Urban Development (ExWoSt) study "New Mobility Forms, Mobility Stations and Urban Design" identified the starting points for the successful implementation of new forms of mobility.

Municipal action approaches

New forms of mobility are an important contribution to the substitution of private car trips, but they can only be effective if they have low access barriers and high user acceptance. The aim was to provide suggestions and recommendations for municipalities wishing to implement new forms of mobility to improve the mobility services in their municipalities. If the traffic aspects are favourable, the consideration of design aspects can support the acceptance promotion and increase the implementation chances.

Learning from experiences of others

In-depth investigations of case studies allow  to learn from experiences of other cities concerning mobility stations, car sharing, bikesharing and long-distance bus services.
