PTV has been the leading innovator in urban mobility, logistics and traffic engineering for more than three decades. Moving people and goods has always been a key strategy of the German software provider. Join us in stepping through our history timeline which illustrates with a few words PTV's development from a small software firm founded by students and doctoral students to a global Smart Software Company.

PTV’s City Mobile app debuts at the International Transport Forum (ITF) in Leipzig. This unique app provides intermodal mobility services, including real-time information in one single application.

Michel Zweers joins the PTV Board as CFO.

Real-time solutions are launched onto the market: PTV Optima for traffic management and PTV Drive & Arrive as a cloud-based service for the calculation of the estimated time of arrival in transport logistics – always in real-time.

The internationalisation process is driven forward: new subsidiaries in the UK, Mexico, Japan and Dubai.

PTV is the first to bring the Truck Parking Europe App for iOS and Android onto the market, with the biggest database for HGV parking space searches in the whole of Europe.

Optimising traffic and pedestrian access to the Olympic Games or other big events is a demanding planning exercise, and many cities and events organisers use the PTV Group's software and know-how to do so.

PTV launches new corporate design and corporate identity. The completely revised corporate design reflects PTV's position as a global Smart Software Company and its new corporate vision:
"We plan and optimise everything which moves people and goods worldwide."

The founder of the company, Dr.-Ing. Hans Hubschneider, steps down from the position of CEO effective July 1, 2011. The supervisory board has appointed Vincent Kobesen as his successor.
