History

PTV has been the leading innovator in urban mobility, logistics and traffic engineering for more than three decades. Moving people and goods has always been a key strategy of the German software provider. 2015

PTV’s City Mobile app debuts at the International Transport Forum (ITF) in Leipzig. This unique app provides intermodal mobility services, including real-time information in one single application.

Michel Zweers joins the PTV Board as CFO.

2014

Real-time solutions are launched onto the market: PTV Optima for traffic management and PTV Drive & Arrive as a cloud-based service for the calculation of the estimated time of arrival in transport logistics – always in real-time.

The internationalisation process is driven forward: new subsidiaries in the UK, Mexico, Japan and Dubai.

2013

PTV is the first to bring the Truck Parking Europe App for iOS and Android onto the market, with the biggest database for HGV parking space searches in the whole of Europe.

2012

Optimising traffic and pedestrian access to the Olympic Games or other big events is a demanding planning exercise, and many cities and events organisers use the PTV Group's software and know-how to do so.

PTV launches new corporate design and corporate identity. The completely revised corporate design reflects PTV's position as a global Smart Software Company and its new corporate vision:
"We plan and optimise everything which moves people and goods worldwide."

2011

The founder of the company, Dr.-Ing. Hans Hubschneider, steps down from the position of CEO effective July 1, 2011. The supervisory board has appointed Vincent Kobesen as his successor.

2010

PTV wins the prestigious Global Leadership Seal awarded by an independent advisory board and the German Standards Editions.

VISSIM is the first multi-modal microscopic simulation program to include real interaction between pedestrians and vehicles. The tool belongs to the established PTV Vision product line for traffic planning..

2009

PTV launches the first route planning software that allows users to reliably calculate emissions

2008

Two new members join PTV's Board of Directors: Thomas Haupt and Vincent Kobesen

Completion of PTV's office building III - PTV offices in the Karlsruhe area are now under one roof

2007

Merger with MAP&GUIDE GmbH

map&guide becomes a PTV product line

2006

Acquisition of the U.S. companies NuStats and DataSource

Foundation of PTV Asia-Pacific with headquarters in Brisbane (Australia) and Singapore (Singapore)

2005

Foundation of PTV Traffic Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

Foundation of PTV Middle East

Acquisition of Loxane, the French market leader for mapping and route planning software

Harald Holberg becomes a member of the board of directors. As CFO he is repsonsible for finance, controlling and human resources.

2004

PTV AG with 18 shareholdings, about 500 employees and a turnover of 50 million Euros

Foundation of PTV France, majority shareholding in ITC, Inc. now named PTV America, Inc.; PTV-Ordis becomes a wholly-owned PTV subsidiary

First mutual project with Ordis BV in the field container planning
